A kind shoemaker, who usually makes shoes for poor people, becomes ill. He can’t work except for a few hours a week, which doesn’t help him get by. He spends all he has except for a piece of leather that he cuts and puts on his workbench because he can’t work for long hours. He is not sure that his weak hands will help him make beautiful shoes like before. When morning comes, he finds that the piece of leather becomes a beautiful pair of shoes.
